I rather like this cartoon - it pretty much sums up how I feel about blogging.
Of course, my kitchen ramblings have not yet made it into the printed media (although a few blogs, I follow, have - so there's still time) but the sentiment remains the same.
Sometimes I look back at posts and cringe at my clumsy English. Other times I am so proud of a post that I am surprised it does not instantly achieve international acclaim. Then, of course, I look at it again.
The cartoon is copyright (and all that jazz), to Debbie Ohi and I found her work via a caption contest she is running on the Geek:
It is a testament to my predictability that I came up with this 'punchline':
Gimli: "So I put my little round token here?"
Gandalf: "Your farmer"
Gimli: "yes, my farmer. and I can build a fence?"
Legolas: "no, you need some wood for that"
Gimli: "how do I get wood, again?"
Frodo: "you have to place your wooden disk.."
Gandalf: "farmer"
Frodo: "sorry, your farmer, on a wood space"
Gimli: (*sighs*) "Can't we just go kill some Orcs?"
It's no wonder I can't find a publisher.

Your blog is always erudite and enjoyable Simon! Even if you never grace the NY Times bestseller lists, remember - there are those of us who prefer quality of tawdry popularity. Though I hear the latter does pay better... :)
